It was a cold, dull and damp day in Leicester last Friday but I was determined it wouldn’t spoil the afternoon. A friend had come to stay for the weekend and I was going to show her around Leicester. I’ve never been hugely fond of the city, feeling a far greater affinity with the south of the country, but, on Friday, I saw it through someone else’s eyes for the first time and realised that it’s a far more interesting and friendly place than I ever gave it credit for.

Does Richard Armitage Look Like Richard III?

So were they separated at birth or not? :D

Mashup pic is my crude photoshop work. LOL!

Dear Richard

Dear Richard:

I just read an article about your being cast as Richard III, and the look on my face is a lot like that of the King’s above — thoughtful with a little thread of perplexity. Earlier I had read CNN’s piece with quotes from Ms. Langley, and her statements about your involvement gave me some pause. I so want to jump on the bandwagon but admit to being the suspicious kind. I just feel funny about this, and especially when I consider the ‘Charlie’ debacle. Of course that didn’t involve CNN or a Scottish newspaper, but I can’t get ’round the very non-committal tone of your agent. Maybe I’m hesitant for no good reason.

One of your crazy fans who hates being cynical, but I can’t seem to help myself.

P.S. I look forward to whatever you may be doing in future.

This is just me sharing my unvarnished thoughts about this. It will be wonderful if this is true, but I hope someone hasn’t jumped the gun by mentioning it now. Then again what do I know about promoting a possible film? Yes, you guessed it, nothing. LOL!

Fan Campaign for King Richard Armitage Made the News

This could not happen to a nicer person than Roswitha. Lovely, lovely person, and I never use lovely twice in the same sentence unless I mean it.

I guess if this is making the news, I ought to give my two cents on Richard III at some point. LOL!

And let’s hope the buzz created by this bunch pays off! It can certainly be helped along if you sign the petition.

Fans in clamour for actor to become king

By Gemma Peplow

Leicestershire actor Richard Armitage has spoken several times about his interest in King Richard III and ideas to tell his story on the big screen or on the stage.

And his own army of fans from all corners of the world are right behind him.

Roswitha Gerhart, who lives in Munich, Germany, has co-launched an online “support network” for a film or theatre production, and more than 1,100 fans have signed up.

Richard Armitage, who most recently played dwarf Thorin Oakenshield in The Hobbit, was named after the last Plantagenet king, and has spoken about his story in many publications – including the Leicester Mercury’s More magazine last month.
