Juxtaposition in the ‘Hood

A new Richard Armitage photo surfaced from @UrbanAtShedCrew, and I have all kinds of good vibes about this.

Richard Armitage Urban and the Shed Crew

Thoughts of Richard playing the scruff, out of his element — or is he? I absolutely adore this. Can hardly wait even though I realize it may not play in the U.S. quickly. Since when has that ever stopped any of us? And for anyone reading who may be alarmed by that statement, I always buy the DVD and usually more than one. It’s my understanding that many, many fans do this. But best of all, we are willing to talk and talk and talk about these vehicles.

Meanwhile, just one of the tweets inuring us to the culture of Urban and the Crew:

Interesting stuff to read as I wait for my book to get here.

And the Into the Storm trailer!

Yeah, Rich!

All of a sudden we have a few things to look forward to. I knew it. I knew it. Yes, I’m gloating. I knew you weren’t sitting on your duff. Have you ever been able to do that? Seriously, man, have you ever been able to sit still?

Somehow I doubt it, and I would bet there’s some really fine looking home improvements created in between all of these theatrical offerings when you were supposedly having your “down time.” :D

Signed,
A fan crazy about damaged characters.

P.S. You have always done a wonderful job with redemption stories. I really cannot wait to see this. Sue me if I’m getting ahead of myself.

  1. I have the best vibes too. Great expectations for this film.
And of course, I buy more than one edition of DVD. I think I have an impressive collection of LOTR and Hobbit DVDs… Nobody can complain :P

  2. :D

  3. Hopefully they will show this at Sundance or one of the other many Film Festivals around and get it some kind of distribution in the US. Not only that but maybe some award buzz as well :)

  4. You are right!

If this were to show, I may have to break down and go to Sundance. It’s almost in my backyard. :D

Seriously, I have a some friends who go every year, but I’ve never been. This would be a good problem to solve if it were to show there. *fingers crossed*

  5. I am confident with experts like you and others, we will be able to see it no matter where we are – and yes- we will all want to buy the stuff also. So, it’s a wash as far as I’m concerned. And for every one of us who can’t get to a theater, there’s someone else who will see it for paid admission five times.
    Looking good. Toe curling time.

  6. I thought we were in for something good from him when he showed longer sideburns in the Anglophile interviews. This project sounds like one he can get his teeth really sunk into. (Please pardon my grammar). Too bad we have to wait but it is always worth it.

  7. Thank you for this photo. Definitely suitably “scruffy” for the role. I do feel it is a good career direction, just at this point. Not necessarily a defining point – did we want definition? Mr. Thornton was a while back. Type-casting is just not the way every actor wishes to go.
