I had to get that last post done. Wish you could have heard me laughing while I typed, but I’m glad it’s done.
Lately, I’ve mostly been dwelling on things that are fine and good and true and beautiful when it would have been so easy to focus on things that are not. What a wondrous thing to remember I don’t have to focus on things that don’t edify. It’s strange to make reference to it — even cryptically, and it’s certainly hard for me to take this place seriously. RA Universe doesn’t qualify as serious. Not even close. But I do have to make good on some promises I’ve made in the last year, and I will. But not today.
For SO and I, this sums up the state of our minds the last few weeks:
My brain is definitely out of control, and I mean that in the best way possible. But I’m itching to capture my thoughts, and just when I gave one of my prized possessions to my son. I’ve ordered another one, but it’s not here yet, and I’ve had to resort to pencil and paper when on the road. Painful!! LOL!
Onto some housekeeping of which this blog is in great need. My tags are a mess, but oh, you don’t know the joy of cleaning up a mess until you have to sift through pictures of and words about Richard Armitage. The challenge is to not get sidetracked.
And this is what I’m listening to as I sift:
I’ve probably got more to say about Oscar Peterson, Antonio Carlos Jobim, et al in more detail later. And okay, I threw in ‘How Insensitive’ (aka ‘Insensatez’) but don’t you just love Sting’s funky self?!! Yes, I’ll work him into another post sometime as well. :D
Do we need a picture of RA to go along? Oh yeah.
Manipulation courtesy of a fan, whom I’m not sure wants credit. I’ll have to check. In the meantime, enjoy, and remember you can click on it to enlarge.
edit: just as I thought — she does not want credit. That’s a shame since this is a great manipulation. Oh well, we still get to enjoy it.

Ahhhhh STING! I never knew you had it in you!! Really nice! =o) And the manip is nice *cough*! These techie geeks are amazing. It helps to have “nice” material to work with also, but wow, how’d they do THAT?!
I’ve hardly ever put up a shot of him without his shirt. But that one seemed to fit the music. Yeah, that’s what it was — it fit the music. *vigorous cough*
I just wish he didn’t look so angry.
I’m a big Sting fan, but I would have guessed he was way too mainstream for you :)
Love this manip. Drool.
Oh, I have my mainstream days. ;-)
Yeah, the artwork is good. :D
Ooooooh . . . thank you for this manip. :D It reminds me totally of a couple of scenes (dream and real) from Truce! T’would be nice if he had less of a scowl, but–oh my, lovely anyway. *thud* And certainly appropriate for your post. Ain’t music grand . . . and I totally understand about getting sidetracked when shuffling through all things Armitage . . .
Thing about this manip is…its seemingly genuineness/authenticity? The crease down the middle and the water spot at the upper left are icing on the cake. This pic has been in somebody’s wallet/purse for a loooong time…there’s a story here just waiting to be told!? That scowl screams, “Put that camera away! My hair’s mussed…” :)
I like to imagine it’s been in Layla’s wallet, a snapshot from their honeymoon, taken just before that scowl becomes a wicked grin (“Come here, you” he says with a growl) as he chases her down across the sand of the deserted beach to wrestle the camera from her–and move on to more enjoyable pursuits.
And yes, it is extremely well done. The person who created this is quite the whiz!!
Yes, its such a hazard! :D
And the person who created this is super talented. She’s done quite a few other things that were fantastic, but she rarely wants credit.
Layla’s wallet indeed. LOL!
This particular fan pays such attention to detail, and I have never seen one of her creations that wasn’t excellent. Truly. She has never done something that just wasn’t quite right. They’ve all been good — the ones I’ve seen anyway.
