Death by Facebook – Free from Amazon Kindle Store

[note: this is me monkeying around with code :D]

This is one of the blogs I love and read religiously. I'm reading this book now. I laughed at the name of it and many of you can guess why. What a great blog title that would be! :D

Do I have mixed emotions about reading free books? I did, but I've bought more books in the last few years when I started following this blog than the ten before. The kindle has prompted me to buy many more hardcopy new books as well where I seldom did that before unless it was a gift to someone. So no worries that I'm not supporting authors.

And if you don't have a kindle, it's possible to download some of these books to a PC or even a smart phone with free apps available to do so. But as with all Amazon transactions, read the fine print. Some books can be downloaded to the Kindle permanently, and some are temporary ala borrowing a book from the library.

edit: I'm putting the Richard Armitage tag on this 'cause he's a reader. LOL!

Also, Nook has free books too. More on that later -- maybe.

  1. Thanks for the info. I also am signed up for the Daily Deal for Kindle. Every day a different book is offered for .99 (and yes, you own it). Romances, mysteries, thrillers, sci-fi and fantasy, and some non-fiction have all shown up in their selections.,

When I saw the title of this entry, I started laughing. It seemed oh so appropriate for you for some odd reason. ;)

  2. I’ve been wanting to highlight this blog, and well, I’m lazy this morning hence the post. The truth is that I’ve turned several friends onto this blog and to Kindle, and they are having a blast. I hope others will do the same. Nook also has free books.

I do the daily deal as well, and I also follow other kindle blogs, but this is the best one IMO.

  3. The reblogging function has been completely changed. Yuck! I will do it another way in future!

  4. How apropos for you! You threw me for a loop receiving this in my mailbox :) as yes I’ve been subscribing for maybe about a month to that blog.

Recently I’ve discovered Kindle Cloud Reader – so I’m not DL each purchase & my Kindle library uncluttered. I do wish a Kindle book came with the blurb like you see online.
In any case I’m set for a deserted island :)

As far as FB – wish besides control over tagging there was also control over the mutual friend feature – can’t wait for the momentous day when my mother joins FB – fairly anti for a long time she’s learning the ropes of control :)

Can’t wait for the Nook post! I’ve heard of their Friday reads but haven’t made much of an effort beyond a few looks – I’ve run in the same free reads too. Have you browsed their forums for lending offers?

if you read on multiple devices – Kindle synch feature is superb!! Can’t look ahead though .. that will confuse it! :D

  5. thanks for the mention! Enjoy the book

  6. I am enjoying it! And as I do with most I enjoy, I’ll end up buying it — for real. :)
