I Declare the Drought Officially Over

With this veritable flood of images, how can it be anything but a monsoon! Yes, I know there are those of you smart enough to know it was over a while ago. I’m talking to the rest who were not quite sure. You can be sure. LOL!

Makes me want to yell, “Stop! Stop!”

No, I don’t mean that. Would I have this name if I wanted to stop?

The only problem is it just makes me greedy for more.

Dear, Dear Sir Peter,

You can’t win. Seriously, man, you are just creating a monster. My appetite is pretty damn big now. After this…I may not come up for air for a week.

And I hate to say this, but I’m still waiting on those dates for the premiere. I would trade a few of those pics for that intel.

Signed,
One of Richard’s crazy fans, who lately has been wondering if Scott Glenn is under contract:

And I’m never going to comment on this ’cause I don’t trust myself:

I would draw an arrow, but this thing has its own, uh, arrow, er, axe.

Finally Did It

From the time I started this blog, I’ve been talking to my friends about something else I had in mind, and I’ve finally started it. It’s a new blog. Yeah, I am a glutton for punishment it seems, and no, this blog is not going away. For a long, long time I’ve wrestled with what to do about this place, and it occurred to me that I had given myself the untenable position of choosing between this blog or the other one. The other day it hit that God had not come down from on high and told me I had to have one or the other. So I’m keeping them both. Richard Armitage is too much fun to talk about to stop now. How long I can manage this I don’t know, but I have SO‘s support. This is key.

For those who are wondering about my loose ends here, I will get to all of them, and most notably to some of you that I have more to say about my conversation with Todd Garner and my Comic-con experience. No worries! I will share it and soon. Until then, I hope you will forgive my distraction.

So where is this new blog? I’m so glad you asked. :D It’s over here.

Check out the new Hobbit images from USA Today and especially Philippa Boyens’ comments about Thorin.

An Interesting Week with Peter Jackson

Peter Jackson announced Tolkien Week to mark the 75th anniversary of the publication of The Hobbit. There will be a new trailer airing September 19th, some special content some time this week, and World Hobbit Day aka the combined birthdays of Bilbo and Frodo finishing off the event.

Oh yeah, I’m wondering about the “special content.”

Maybe we’ll get the premiere dates?

No, that would be too easy. LOL!

Whatever we get, I just want to state that I like Peter Jackson in yellow. Yep, styling in yellow. Needs to wear that more often. :D

Thoughts on a Sunday Morning

For some time now I’ve been working on something else, and I’ve mentioned it a few times. I do have some things I need to finish here, and I’m still going to run this blog for a bit longer once I make my jump. How long I’m not exactly sure, but I may make it to my third anniversary next April. Not entirely sure of that, but it’s possible. Frankly, every time I’ve tried to quit this thing, something happens to keep me from it. That’s not a complaint. It’s always something good that occurs. Why that keeps happening I don’t know. I don’t post every day. I’ve inhibited the Google bot. I don’t have RA’s name in my blog name and have seldom put it in a title until recently. I have had significant help from some of the RA fan sites and from my fellow bloggers. I appreciate them all very much! I am also on Twitter although statistically a small number of those who surf the Net are on Twitter. So to all of you who find this place and continue to read it, thank you for that and for continually drawing me back into this marvelous ride. And thank you to Richard Armitage for just being Richard Armitage. LOL!

If someone had told me when I started this lark that so much would happen and so easily, I would have scoffed. Not to say that this isn’t work. It is. But contrary to what some may think, I’ve asked for very little from others in the last two and a half years. Thanks to those of you who answered when I made a request, and to those of you who took it upon yourselves to give me something unasked. Your participation is the icing on this cake, and cake it is because it’s helped evoke and sustain an aspect of me I hope will create something fine with my next project.

Until then, SO continues to smile and quirk his eyebrow at me. It’s the whimsical way he’s always had that makes me want to get in his head, and when I finally do get in his head, it’s one of the most pleasurable things imaginable. This morning is our anniversary, and I can say with conviction that I’ve never been bored. Not once. Irritated or disappointed at times but never bored. And I have it on good authority he’s never been bored with me. I’m very thankful for what’s occurred between us, and after all these years together, it refreshes me to say that this morning.

Dear Sir Peter, We Need to Talk

September 15, 2012

Dear Sir Peter,

It occurred to me sometime yesterday that The Hobbit premiere is only three months away. If you have a schedule like mine, which I suspect you do, three months is about a week and a half from now. Not much time to make plans. New York is already on my itinerary for December due to two very compelling reasons and neither being about The Hobbit nor Richard Armitage. But if there will be a New York premiere, it would be great to make my visit coincide. I only have one problem. I don’t know when the hell it is, or if it is. Perhaps I shouldn’t use such strong language, but I can’t help myself.

I have even done a little research concerning past premieres hoping to find a pattern. I don’t have a lot of time to do things like this. It’s scary what I have let slide to look all of this up. And to no avail. It seems there may not have been a premiere in New York for the last Lord of the Rings movie. The only real thread of hope there might be one this time is a comment from Sir Ian about premieres in London, New York, Berlin and Tokyo. But then my anal self starts wondering what he means by the word premiere. It does seem to get confused with the word release. I just don’t know what to think, and I was hoping you might be able to help.

Yes, I know it’s Warner Brothers’ responsibility to handle these things. Pardon me if I don’t buy that bullshit. No, no, I didn’t mean to say that. I shouldn’t say that. :D I know you’re busy, and the studio is the one to handle all of this tedium while you’re getting the movie ready. I was just hoping you might have some pull with them about getting a New York premiere scheduled. And if I could make it to New Zealand in November, I would, but I don’t have a spare several thousand lying around and will have to pass. So I need your help with the New York date, and I hope you’re not offended by my passion to attend. LOL! Yes, that’s a bit of a maniacal laugh, which I hope you ignore or maybe not.

Signed,
One of Richard Armitage’s crazy fans who also has a soft spot for a certain Kiwi director with wild hair

P.S. I apologize again for calling you Mister.

Yep, it’s a fake fan letter, and I’m putting this note here for those who think this is real. No, it’s not real. No, that’s not completely true. I would like to know if there is a premiere in New York and when it may be, but I seriously doubt my venting here will make it appear. Nice to dream about, but I’m not that delusional — yet. LOL!

And in the interest of fairness, I have to say a little something about one of my compelling reasons. She is my second born, and the only child I have not written about on this blog. She is also the only one who took the time to ferret out the blog’s location and then informed me how happy she was I am anonymous as well as making sure I knew she was the child who had not had a post. “Yeah, I see where I stand with you, Mom. No post for me huh? LOL!” Okay, so here it is, Lou (no, that’s not her real name).

But first a picture:

The girl with the wicked sense of humor.

Okay, another picture:

That was taken as part of a documentary she worked on doing stills for them.

And one more (see, you got three pictures when the others got two or less):

Third from the right, and the girl who knows no fear except of the vacuum cleaner or dishwasher. :D I’ll give her a pass on that since she is such a great student and just a great kid. I would describe her, but she is a bit indescribable and the reason I hadn’t mentioned her yet. Enigma is the word most often associated with her, and oftentimes the comment, “Lou is just being Lou,” is heard amongst family and friends.

For those interested in my research on premiere dates, it’s below, and if I have an error or have missed something, please let me know. Thanks.

Gratiana came so close to guessing the first name of Richard Armitage’s character in Black Sky, and with this piece, she explores the last!

Gratiana Lovelace's avatarSomething About Love (A)

When meeting someone new, proper introductions must be made.  But one fellow had gone maddeningly without appellation until Monday.  Of course, I refer to the teacher character that British actor Richard Armitage portrays in Todd Garner’s tornado movie filming now and set to release in 2013, titled “Black Sky”.

Speculation abounded as to the character’s name –especially as pictures of RA in character started to trickle out from “Black Sky” producer Todd Garner on his Twitter account @Todd_Garner:

Being a curious soul, I took the direct route and simply asked Mr. Garner  in a tweet if we might know Richard Armitage’s character’s name.  And he kindly replied:

@GratianaL: @GratianaL @Todd_Garner  Any hints on Mr. Armitage’s character’s name? RA kind of looks like a “Greg” to me. Close – Gary

Okay, Gary it is.   But we still don’t have a surname.  So, urged on by others…

Unearthing Richard

Richard Armitage has a penchant for redeeming the character of Richard III and that inclination may be in line with the stars. What else to explain the windfall of attention from the dig done in Leicester this week?

The infamous king, who has long been a source of controversy among scholars, was possibly disinterred from his resting place under a council car park (in Yankee = public housing parking lot):

And now I’m wondering how “Gary” will deal with this while traversing the rubble to chase after his son. I hope Richard Armitage can do split personality well; otherwise, this opportunity will slip away. No, I don’t mean that. Our boy is too smart for that. Yes, I’m biased. :D

Read more about the dig here.

A Little Note of Joy

I apologize for the cryptic nature of this post, but it can’t be helped.

There is cause for some rejoicing in the Frenz household. Oh, it might be premature for me to say this, but I have to say this somewhere! Something which has weighed heavily on this family since September 2010 may be alleviated in the near future. It’s not a sure thing yet, but it’s looking pretty good, and if it happens, we will be spending lots of time at this place in coming months:

And my laptop will go with me.

Whatever happens, SO and I are learning in a way we never knew that it’s a waste of time to sweat over all the things you should have done, could have done and would have done. Just do something.

Oklahoma Teacher Dude aka Gary

So now we have a name for Richard Armitage’s new character in Black Sky.

Wait?! Gary means John in Esperanto? Nooooo! :D

A big thank you to Gratiana for asking the question.

And now I really have to get some work done!
