Being the Badass

Before I move onto the Okie school teacher, who is about as far from looking like an Okie school teacher as someone can get (no offense to male teachers in Oklahoma), I thought I would bask in the badass from Middle Earth:

41 is Good Too

Everyone makes such a thing out of turning 40, but 41 can be pretty sweet as well. I had a baby at 41, and although I never would have planned that, it was one of the greatest things that ever happened to me. It’s kept me young at heart. My birthday wish for Richard Armitage is that he can always stay young at heart. The key is pursuing a passion.

Dear Rich,

Your ability to keep pursuing what you love with great heart and humor really has been inspiring to me personally. It’s been part of the catalyst for doing something that my SO begged me to do for years — writing.

Thank you for that, and I hope you have a wonderful birthday.

Signed,
One of your crazy fans

Wow! at New Artwork from ‘The Hobbit’

Seriously. That scroll display on Entertainment Weekly is awesome, and you all know how I hate to use the word awesome. This deserves the description.

Fandwarfing, A Reality

Fandwarfing* hasn’t made sense to me until today. The photos of Richard Armitage as a dwarf, frankly, didn’t look like a dwarf. He has always looked like himself in stature — rather large. But ‘Entertainment Weekly’ has a new raft of photos from ‘The Hobbit,’ and one of RA actually gives the appearance of a dwarf. And I find, I quite like it. I guess “dwarves” really can be sexy:

You can see the rest of the photos including couple of more with RA on the EW site here.

* a term coined by Calexora to express the hysteria which goes on when seeing the little people and more especially one little people. :D

Richard Armitage Confirmed at Comic-Con

TheOneRingnet came through again! They have confirmed ‘The Hobbit’ cast, including Richard Armitage, will indeed be at Comic-Con.

I hope this settles it for some of you. :D

This is a great photo, but someone needs to talk to TORn about a more recent one.

Continuing the Stroll through FanstRAvaganza

More strolling through FanstRAvaganza.

E.B. Darcy speculates about Thorin’s role. Interesting speculation on where the movie will end, and I second the advice to “Read the book before you see the movie!” Then E.B tries to get us ready for the marketing of Thorin. I’m especially interested in an audiobook (more on that later). Of course all of this has her wondering where it might lead RA’s career.

Grati comes with her Crazy Caption contest, and then a poem about RA from an interesting perspective. Suddenly I’m hungry. ;-)

Angie (aka FedoraLady) takes us through a bit of her odyssey in making fan videos. And instead of the usual interview, the Hot Henchman interviews Lady Writer. :D

Fabo and her friend and fellow RA lover, Zibeline, thoroughly explore the power of the Armitage eyes and lashes, and then Fabo muses about who could play Anne Neville to Richard’s III. I’m starting to get into this RIII thing. LOL!

I’ve really enjoyed going through these posts. One more tagteam blogger tomorrow, and then I move onto the anchor bloggers.

It’s All About Richard Armitage, Baby!

What?! FanstRAvaganza! Starts March 12th. Wait. You’ve never heard of Richard Armitage? He’s the guy on the header, and the sidebar, and here:

Click on any of the pictures for more, and if that’s not enough, join me for Fanstra. Yep, it had to be abbreviated since I kept misspelling it, which I’ve finally figured out is due to almost every letter being typed with the left hand.

Okay, some of the posts this week will be about his fans, but it all leads back to him. :D

The Hum of Rippling

Did I mix my metaphors? Do you care? If you’re a normal RA fan you’re already looking at the photo below and have such a glazed look that you don’t even realize what I’ve typed above it, but I press on. A few hours ago Jonia made a post about her latest find. I wasn’t going to post but rather just Tweet about it. When I saw so much posting about it, I thought, “What the hey. I’ll ripple too.” :D

This photo is my favorite (see the link to more at Jonia’s blog piece):

Yeah, he’s beautiful.

Tintin Looks Interesting

I’m contemplating seeing this movie. It’s been a while since I’ve been to a movie theater, and it would be nice to get out of the house. SO was talking about taking our eleven year old to see it, and my extreme eagerness was duly noted with a look askance that said, “What is going on?” My look back, “Nothing. I just thought _________ might love this movie, and it is the holiday season. Maybe we can go on opening night?”

I refuse to believe Richard Armitage is corrupting my reputation. What is it to me that I’ve watched the cheesy Robin Hood, then more cheesy Captain America, and now… But I’m doing it so my kid will have some entertainment, and I’m sure she would love the trailers:

Thorin and His Sword

So I was right about the day this would happen but wrong about him appearing alone. I should have known he would have Orcrist. :D

As usual, you can click to enlarge, and the still is from TORn.
