404 Not Found?!!

Since you have landed here, that means you have probably clicked on a cache of a category or tag that I trashed. Before you get upset, you can always try the search function instead. It’s to your left on the sidebar unless you’re on a phone, and then it should be at the top right.

If you have read this far, I’ll grace you with a goodie (subject to change due to my mood). Today it’s an excerpt from RA’s most recent audio book:

Convenient Marriage excerpt

[note to regular readers of this blog: I could do this housekeeping under the covers, but this is much more fun. Proving that under the covers is not always more fun.] This is my continuing public service to all of Richard Armitage’s fans. See how good I am to you. I take care of you even when you hit a dead end. ;-)

Strike Back S2 Confirmed!

Yes, it’s finally been confirmed (if you don’t already know) that Strike Back will have a second run and this time with more episodes. So more John Porter! But there may be a catch.

Sky1 orders second series of Strike Back
Richard Armitage to return in 10-part run of drama about former SAS operative

Jason Deans
guardian.co.uk, Monday 2 August 2010 11.23 BST

Richard Armitage is to return to Sky1 as former SAS operative John Porter in a second series of Strike Back.

Stuart Murphy, the Sky1 controller, has ordered a second 10-part series of the drama following this year’s first run.

Armitage stars as Porter, a former special forces soldier now working for British intelligence. Strike Back was adapted from the novel by Chris Ryan.

Read the rest here.

I’m hearing that it’s going to be awhile — possibly the end of next year instead of spring. Visions of the promotion for Robin Hood S3 swirl in my head. Why the heck does it take so long between series? Is it RA’s schedule? Or is this how it works on British TV? Or what? It would seem to me that this kind of lapse would lose a significant amount of viewers, or am I just used to the U.S. where everything is so fast that we get antsy when it’s not? Yes, I realize we may be spoiled, so I’m wondering if my expectation level needs to be reset.

Oh, and if this is a long time between series, then I guess they really like RA and this show and perhaps there really are plans to take this to an international market. If so, I might actually start liking ol’ Rupe again. In the meantime:

Dear Mr. Murdoch:

I would be willing to pay to see this show if you can swing international access to Sky1. If anyone can do this, it’s you!

Thanking you in advance for a wonderful television experience. :D

Sincerely,
Someone who has decent disposable income and who would more than likely watch something else on your network, and may even subscribe to the whole damn thing.

Here’s the article that indicates an airing late in 2011.

The Home Stretch

For those who don’t know the meaning, home stretch refers to the last part of a horse race and not to be confused with the seventh inning stretch which refers to taking a break before the last part of a baseball game. We’ve passed the time for taking a break. As I write this, we have less than two hours to break the will of the O’Loughlin fans.* MUHAHAHAHA. So get over there and do your part and vote for RA as the Hunkie of the month! Even though RA is really THE Hunkie:

Don’t get confused and take a break and think it’s time to just go home, which is what I thought at my first professional baseball game. Imagine my chagrin and if I’m honest, my disappointment when I got up to leave and realized the game was not over. It had two more torturous innings and thank heaven it didn’t go into extra innings. I’m glad to know this poll is going to end soon because I’d like to rest this weekend. LOL!

Yeah, Keith, I know how you feel.**

Hang in there. The poll will be done at 9pm GMT today (well, today for some of us). Just to make sure you know exactly how much time is left, I provide a big fat link to London’s time below. More of my public service.

Click here to see if there is still time

And be sure to read the instructions about multiple voting so your votes are not invalidated! Hunkess has got her whip out, so don’t be messin’ with her, or our guy will pay…

and we’ll be left behind:

Doncha love how I mixed these metaphors? I can’t think of a better way to honor baseball than to confuse the subject. LOL! But I apologize to race fans for mixing the two.

This post was inspired by Nat, who uses pictures and words to tell wonderful stories or give her own slant on all things RA or somehow related. Phew, that was work, Nat. It’s her blog’s birthday this week, so be sure to give her some good wishes!

In honor of Nat’s blog turning one:

Reminded me of you, Nat (and SFR).

Thank you for all of the good times!

By Popular Demand

Okay, so I don’t know who all loves a certain video, but a few do if my email is any indication, and I think I’ve made it clear how much I love it. :D I will say again that its name fits — “Guy-Supermassive….”

Oh, and the shot above is from one of the best parts of the video — when the song’s bridge is playing. LOVE IT! Perfect clip!

I’m excited Elvira, per Joana’s enthusiastic consent, has now put it up on her site RAfanvids, and in several formats. If you’ve had trouble viewing from your phone, perhaps this will help. Check it out.

Enjoy!

edit:

Thanks to Elvira I’ve uploaded a better copy of the video to YouTube and disabled the older copy.

Google Can Be Such a Tease

Those alerts can really mess with my head if I let them. Thankfully, I’m a skeptic so I mostly don’t fall for it. But sometimes I miss out because what I’m reading might be true. This morning (for those who don’t already know) there was an alert about Strike Back. Supposedly it’s been renewed for a second series. I will love that if it happens, but for now I’m reserving my hysteria happiness until someone can confirm for my jaded ass that it’s true.

Somehow The Mirror reporting it isn’t enough. Can’t remember what they burned me on, but it was something or I would be giddy by now. Plus, the lack of detail in that piece makes me want to stay away. Or is this just my cynical self running amok?

In the meantime, a picture of RA’s character being put upon:

Oh! Freudian slip. This is the one I meant:

Blessing in Disguise?

I can’t help that I’m anal. It’s a curse and sometimes a blessing. Not sure what it is today.

TheHunkies.com runs a contest to see who is the Hunkie of the month. Right now there are two serious contenders. Yep, our guy and Alex O’Loughlin. RA has been in the lead, but sometime today, Alex pulled ahead by a nose. As I’m writing this, his lead is four votes, and the voting goes until 9pm (GMT) on Saturday, July 31st.

So here’s the anal part. The site owner was so kind to put up more pictures of RA. Thank you, Hunkess. But I couldn’t help but notice one of the thumbnails cuts off RA’s head and only shows his torso; however, the pictures on Alex’s page are perfectly fine. ;-) Before Hunkess gets defensive about this, I want to say in this post that I think she has done a major favor by having that picture displayed like that, and hey, I assume it’s the program displaying the thumbnail like that and it was not intentional. I’m not being snarky with that statement. I realize it’s not always possible to adjust thumbnails. But here’s the good part about it being cut off, well two points. One, his torso is mighty fine so why not focus on it, and two, that might make someone click on the picture and look at the expanded version. Yes, indeed, he is really fine that way!

Enough of my nonsense. If you haven’t voted, go do it! Oh, and be advised that you can only vote once or Hunkess will invalidate your vote, and she is on it, my friends. No second votes or third or fourth… LOL!

Click on the red heart under his picture to VOTE RICHARD! :D

Incessant Housekeeping

July 26, 2010

It’s Monday morning where I am, and I can’t think of a better time to do a little housekeeping. Sorry this post isn’t more interesting. I’m actually testing something, so as Elvira might say, “Nothing here to see; move along.” :D

Oh, never mind! I have to relent and post something you might find interesting since you did come over here to look.

A behind the scenes shot in Russia seems perfect for this entry. Unless you own the Spooks 7* DVDs, you may have only seen this in stills. Producer Katie Swinden is narrating/interviewing:

The twinkle in RA’s eyes is evident in that clip. The little boy quality just fairly jumps out and grabs you, uh, me, whomever. And speaking of Katie Swinden ;-), I think she is beautiful. Seriously. My apologies if she hates this picture. I love it! How many people look this good without a stitch of make up? I shudder to think what some celebrities look like. Katie has nothing to be ashamed of – sunburn be damned.

If my read on her is correct, she would probably say, “About right I would be in a post on housekeeping.” But this is no longer merely a housekeeping post since I’m now on a tangent. But I can’t call it a tangent. Too much RA in the post. I’ll have to come up with another category that isn’t quite a tangent. Dang! I just thought I was going to get out of housekeeping.

*In the UK, MI-5 is called Spooks. This is for all of you who did a search on the show MI-5 and are wondering how you wound up here.

Tangent — Facebook, Facebook, Facebook, What am I going to do with you?

I guess I should have made a Facebook page before this week. My hit count has gone up quite a bit from that link! So welcome to all of you who have come here from Facebook. I love you! It’s just Facebook that doesn’t thrill me. It’s a pain in the ass to get around on, and they (the guys who run that place) make the functions one way. There is no back out plan on some things unless you’re technical and have a crystal ball or you’re a bulldog. I’m technical but don’t have a crystal ball; however, I am a bulldog. Even though this is what you have to be if you’re going to run a “page” on FB, I hesitate to go into that mode. But for RA and all of you, it’s worth it. Hope you enjoy the blog. :D

Hmm. I almost hate to associate RA’s picture with Facebook, but I did post his picture over there several times now, and this is really in honor of all of you. So I’ll post one that some of you might not have seen. OH, and since snaffling seems to be the order of the week ;-), I snaffled this one from Mulubinba. Over here. Be sure to thank her! and frankly, she has a wonderful blog that’s thoughtful on several levels. Definitely one of my favorites.

I also need to say thanks to WordPress or whomever it was that wouldn’t allow me to embed that Strike Back Viral video on my first attempt. Yes, good can come out of bad. I’ve always known that, but Facebook had me doubting it.

edit:

I’ve added snaffle to the lexicon. I didn’t learn it from the RA fandom but would have never used it in a sentence if not for the British ladies I now interact with on a frequent basis. The context in this blog entry makes the meaning pretty plain, but hey, you need to read the lexicon if you haven’t already.

And So It Goes

Mulubinba did a wonderful post, “The End of an Era” to honor the Armitage Army site as it closes today.

I want to add my appreciation for all of the work done there by Eli, and I send all my best wishes to her.
